Anchorage Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Municipal Unification with ‘MOA50’ Events
과거와 현재, 미래를 잇는 특별한 축제… 9월 5일부터 11월 18일까지 시민 모두 참여

1975년, 도시와 자치구 정부의 통합으로 새로운 출발을 했던 앵커리지 시가 올해로 통합 50주년을 맞았다. 이를 기념해 ‘MOA50’이라는 이름 아래, 앵커리지 시는 오는 9월부터 11월까지 다양한 행사로 구성된 대규모 축제를 개최한다.

In 1975, Anchorage embarked on a new chapter with the unification of its city and borough governments. This year marks the 50th anniversary of that milestone, and the city is celebrating with a large-scale festival titled ‘MOA50,’ running from September through November.
수잔 라프랑스 시장은 “50년 전의 통합은 오늘날 다양하고 활기찬 공동체의 초석이 되었습니다. 이번 행사는 과거를 되돌아보고, 현재를 진단하며, 시민 모두가 미래를 함께 그리는 시간이 될 것입니다.”라고 전했다.
Mayor Suzanne LaFrance stated, “Fifty years ago, the unification laid the foundation for today’s vibrant and diverse community. This celebration is an opportunity to reflect on our past, understand the present, and envision the future together.”
크리스토퍼 콘스턴트 시의회 의장도 “이번 50주년은 단순한 기념이 아니라 앞으로 50년을 시민들과 함께 그려나갈 약속의 장입니다.”라고 강조했다.
Assembly Chair Christopher Constant added, “This 50th anniversary is more than a celebration—it’s a promise to shape the next 50 years together.”
